My Photography Story

There’s no shortage of talented photographers in our area, so what sets me apart as a second or associate shooter?

My photography foundation began in sports, where speed, anticipation, and precision were non-negotiable. During my college career, I photographed for the Iowa Cubs, Iowa Wild, Barnstormers, and the Iowa Energy (now the Timberwolves). In those environments, there was no time to hesitate over settings or wait for moments to unfold. You either captured it in real time or missed it entirely. That experience directly translates to wedding days, where fleeting moments matter and confidence behind the camera is essential.

I graduated from Drake University in 2019 with a degree in Digital Media Production. Over the past six years, I’ve photographed nearly 100 weddings across Iowa, Illinois, and Missouri. I’ve continued to invest in my growth by attending multiple photography conferences and workshops, learning from industry leaders including Sal Cincotta, Vanessa Joy, Esteban Gil, Rafael Serrano, and others. These opportunities have sharpened both my technical skill set and my ability to work seamlessly within a lead photographer’s workflow.

On a wedding day, I’m detail-oriented while remaining calm and adaptable. When timelines inevitably shift, I’m comfortable helping things get back on track without adding stress or compromising the couple’s experience. Outside of formal portrait time, I shoot with a documentary style mindset. Observing, anticipating, and capturing moments as they naturally unfold. I’m easygoing, professional, and work exceptionally well alongside vendors and creative teams. More than once, that collaborative energy has been noticed by couples and vendors alike.

My approach is simple: One team. One dream. When everyone works together, the day runs smoother, the couple feels more supported, and the final gallery is stronger. I show up ready to serve the lead photographer, the couple, and the entire vendor team. I bring reliability, adaptability, and a shared goal of delivering an exceptional wedding day.
